Workshops

Overview

Our aim is to give talks and workshops that are interesting and engaging with practical take away techniques that can improve the experience for both the clinician and the individual.  Working in health care we understand the pressures of resources and the importance of wellbeing.  We have had feedback from people that attending our training has had a revolutionary change on their practice.

Training can be created to meet the needs of the audience.  Some examples of sessions we have run;

Optimising the clinic appointment

This looks at the psychological impact that having a long term condition has on an individual and how to optimise engagement and treatment adherence with them.

The session explores Collaborative Agenda Setting and Shared Decision Making to ensure that the individual is an active participant in their health care.

It considers the time restraints of the health service and introduces examples of how to ensure clinic time is used to best advantage.

Team building

This session explores the roles of team members and how to recognise their values and work together.  This session does not need to have the whole team present and can be run with members of different teams.  It explores;

  • what makes a good team
  • identifying team roles
  • how to work together effectively

We were initially called in to run this session at request of a team who had some issues with dynamics.  The feedback was that the positive impact on the team following the session was immense.  So much so that we were asked to run a follow up session, word had got round and this session was so well attended there was a shortage of chairs!

Change Management

COVID-19 has necessitated that services be delivered differently.  People are more willing to utilise technology as an alternative to attending a face to face appointment and hospital technological infrastructure has developed to accommodate this new way of working.  At Psych45 we can support you in managing the change to both moving interactions online and optimising the delivery on limited face to face interventions while ensuring that services maintain their high standard.

People with long term health conditions on average spend 4 hours with a health care professional per year for the other 8756 hours they are self managing.  During this pandemic and the reduction on non emergency interventions, it has been necessary for them to further explore what resources they have available.  Now that services are begin to restart there is an opportunity to build on the assets that they have developed to continue to support them in self management and prepare in case there is a second wave. At Psych45 we can help you to coach people in;

  • How to fact check and search safely for information online
  • How to develop a self management plan
  • How to develop a personalised flare up and set back plan
  • How to optimise treatment adherence
  • How to monitor and feedback on symptoms in a timely manner
  • How to manage stress and anxiety

Stress Management

This pandemic has caused much anxiety and uncertainly.  Services have been temporarily closed, staff have been redeployed and home working, often with the distraction of having to juggle the roles of parent/teacher and worker, is the now encouraged.  Psych45 can equip you with skills to manage your health and wellbeing, which can be used within your home and work life.
